Citizen science research

Veith Selk has carried out two third-party-funded projects in recent years (funded by the Volkswagen Foundation). He developed them together with Dr. Olaf Jann (University of Siegen).

True hate. Disciplining Emotions and Political Learning

The project "Wahrer Hass. Emotionsdisziplinierung und politisches Lernen" (True hate. Disciplining Emotions and Political Learning) focused on the increase of negative emotions in the context of the crisis of democracy.

Moralization, Emotionalization, Polarization

The transfer project "Moralisierung, Emotionalisierung, Polarisierung. Ein bürgerwissenschaftliches Reallabor mit Alltagsexperten" (Moralization, Emotionalization, Polarization. A civic science real laboratory for experts of everyday life) disseminates the results of the research project. A particular focus lies on reaching heterogeneous social milieus.

For this purpose, we developed a format for scientific dialogue, in which civic and scientific voices start a conversation. We put this into practice by means of workshops that have been conducted with different cooperation partners.
